Blue Spring-Powder Mill Recreation Area
Although there are several springs in Missouri named Blue Spring, this one is the largest, bluest, and deepest. Unlike most of Missouri's springs this spring is very calm, and looks like a pool of unusually blue water sitting at the base of a cliff. Measured by divers to be least 256 feet deep, this bluest of the blue springs has an average daily flow of about 87 million gallons of water. Blue Spring is the 8th largest spring in the state. Located in the OzarkNational Scenic Riverway, south of Highway 106 and just south of where the Blair Creek and Current River Sections of the Ozark Trail meet. The waters from the spring flow about a quarter of a mile and then into the Current River. Grab your Ozark Trail Guidebook, and follow the directions on page 83 to the Powder Mill Visitors Center Trailhead. Stay on this road a short distance-follow signs to the spring. From the parking area it's a short walk to the spring. If you're attending the Ozark Trail Associations work day next weekend, be sure to make the short trip over to see this beautiful spring.

This is amazing, though I still find the sheer force of nearby Big Spring to be more appealing to me.
