Lady Slipper Time

It's May and that means that the Lady Slippers are blooming. The yellow Lady Slippers can be found on many sections of the Ozark Trail, and at Big Spring State Park and Meramec State Park.
The only time I've seen the Pink Lady Slippers has been in Tennessee. Of all places, they grow in Peggy's parents back yard! This photo was from last year and the flower is very pink. This photo is from this year and the flower is much lighter. I wonder if the flower will get more pink, I'll have to check it out in a week or so and report back. Heres a photo taken just as the bloom is emerging.
