Caterpillar Season- Stinging IO moth caterpillar

Fall is on the way and the caterpillars are here.  Yesterday this IO moth caterpillar gave me some good stings, when I accidentally grabbed it when pulling a weed.  Surprisingly some caterpillars do sting as a defense mechanism.
