Wild Azaleas

It's wild Azalea time. I've never seen azaleas along the Ozark Trail, but there could be in the higher elevations if there are the right growing conditions. If you find some along the OT let me know. The most popular place to go see these is the Pickle Springs Natural Area.

  1. We saw these in profusion in mid-May along the Marble Creek Section just south of Crane Lake. It was an incredible sight with the cinnamon scent wafting through the air.

p.s. my friend and I have hiked 269 OT miles so far...
