CARRION BEETLE

Carrion Beetles are a flat black and yellow insect that are scavengers and also feed on decaying animal matter.    It's not often that you see one of these insects, we've seen them in and around scat and decaying animals.  If you're in the habit of investigating these sometimes smelly things you may have seen them. While out on one of our mountain bike rides we came across several of these beetles in a turkey carcass that was along side the road.
